The Cardiac Pilot Results from Madrid

On May 7th Cytori announced the results from the cardiac pilots, APOLLO (therapy after Acute Myocardial Infarction) and PRECISE (therapy against chronic ischemia/ refractory angina) soon after the Principal Investigators of the studies had presented them in front of the "who is who" of cardiac scientists researching the benefit of stem cells in this field. From my personal perspective the results of APOLLO came in line with my very high expectations and PRECISE was simply a pleasant surprise. Very encouraging data, which data can be reviewed in the cardiac section of YF.

Having been at the venue and having had the chance to speak to some of these "experts", I believe their reaction was similar "very encouraging", but what was obviously lacking was MEDIA PRESENCE. I saw Avilez doing an interview with Spanish Television briefly- but that was on the event. I believe, since no press conference was given on anything- these folks simply were not there. Cytori however put a wealth of information- mainly videos- on its Homepage, which surely will be viewed by (some) current investors, but doesnt reach the "masses". The silence in the US media, although one almost daily find articles of patients who had a "miracle" stem cell cure, was more than deafening.

The rationell for investing in Cytori

Reason for investing in Cytori, is my sincere belief, that we are on the edge of the "ramp up", the inflection point, where the DISRUPTIVE platform technology that Cytori possesses, will make its first impact in a market- this market being the plastic surgery- & cosmetic markets for breast augmentation und -reconstruction.

The rationell for this to happen is quite simple and inherent to the business model of Cytori, which resembles the one of ISRG- razor-razorblade model, where through the sale of each individual incremental Celution device, a recurring revenue stream is created by the single use disposables required for each treatment.

At present, the level of publicity, that the cell enhanced fat transfer technology is receiving would imply that the inflection point- requiring break-even financial performance- would not be further than say 2-3 Quarters away.

Ren Benjamin from Rodman & Redshaw reduced his rating on Cytori from Market outperform to Market perform citing that the stock price of CYTX had reached his target of $5. It is my personal believe, that the analyst joined forces with Piper Jaffray, who I believe to be working for short-side clients.The intrinsic value of CYTX is a multiple of the present market capitalization by any reasonable DCF calculation.
